Studio floor plan

Christmas preparations took a big bite out of my focus on the new house but we continue to progress. We have approved the house and garage plans. Above is the floor plan for my new studio. Overall, it is smaller than my current studio but should be much more efficient. Note the adjoining bathroom, the sink in the studio and the large storage area.  The sliding french doors open onto a courtyard and flower garden. Yay!

Update October 19, 2014. My Studio is basically the same but some things have changed in the last 10 months. Sliding French doors will open like regular doors, not slide. I took out the sink (will use the laundry room sink not far away to wash our brushes, etc.) and the niche will now be used for my very heavy - never move it again - sleeper sofa. The thinking is that as we age, if stairs become impossible, the studio will turn into our master bedroom. The adjoining bath has a no-curb shower and will have an electrical outlet near the toilet to plug in a Toto bidet-type seat useful to older folks.

Solar had to be deleted from our plans because it is one of the reasons our permit was delayed by months but the solar equipment room was changed to a Pantry and that's good!
