After a seven year search for our perfect place on Lake Sawyer, Black Diamond, WA, this is the journal of building our lakeside home. As time permits I'll add what's going on at Mill Pond Cottage.

Sewer Permit
Another step forward, today we got our sewer permit. Last mention of Soos Creek Water and Sewer was in my post of January 29. Thank you Lynn and Stephanie for your help.

end of January update
News of the day: the Sewer Availability Certificate is on its way to us in the mail from Soos Creek Water and Sewer. Nice person there, Lynn, helped by phone.
The photo above is looking east to the lake but shows our south property line at the right edge of our dock which is goose-pooped and will probably remain so until Annie moves in. The lily pads are gone for the winter. Last weekend I found Spring signs of the 600 flower bulbs I planted last fall along the north fence line.
We are nearing the building permit stage of our project and it is time for us to thank our house designer, Will Thomas, Will Thomas Designs. We met him at the Remodeling Show in Seattle last fall and were impressed by his artistic vision for every project he takes on. We love the house he has designed for us!
